Send money from Canada to Saudi Arabia
An outbound corridor, not a remittance one
Canada to Saudi Arabia does not behave like the other routes on this site. There is no large Saudi community in Toronto or Calgary sending money home. What there is instead is Canadians working in the Kingdom, engineers, medical staff, academics and project managers on contract in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dhahran and Jubail, together with Canadian firms holding Saudi clients or subsidiaries.
The money therefore moves for business reasons: a local payroll, a contractor's invoice, a deposit on an apartment, a school in Riyadh billing a Canadian parent. Grey pays riyals into Al Rajhi Bank, Saudi National Bank, Riyad Bank, Alinma or any other Saudi bank, and the credit reads as domestic on the receiving statement.
There is a smaller and steadier flow alongside it: Canadian Muslims paying for Umrah accommodation, transport and services booked directly in the Kingdom rather than through an agency at home.

Where the cost hides on a pegged currency
Grey separates the two numbers. The fee is the fee and the rate is the rate, both on the confirmation screen, which means a finance team can reconcile a Saudi payment against what was quoted rather than working backwards from a bank statement.
For a company paying the same Riyadh supplier every month, that reconciliation is worth more than a slightly lower headline fee. The number to compare is the riyal amount that reaches the account.

Fixing the rate at confirmation

Grey locks the rate when you confirm, and the riyal figure shown is the riyal figure delivered. On a pegged currency that sounds academic until an invoice is quoted in riyals and has to be paid in full.
It matters as well for anyone budgeting a Saudi project from Canada. A fixed conversion at the point of sending is something a project ledger can hold, unlike an estimate that settles two days later.
