Send money from Canada to Indonesia
A corridor that is mostly invoices, and partly family
Canada's traffic to Indonesia does not look like its traffic to South Asia. A good deal of it is commercial: engineering and mining services firms headquartered in Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon and Toronto paying contractors, drilling and survey crews, equipment agents and site services in Jakarta, Balikpapan and around the Kalimantan and Sulawesi operations. Invoices in the tens of thousands, on payment terms, against paperwork.
Underneath that sits a smaller and much older family thread. Indonesian-Canadian households in Vancouver, Richmond and the Toronto suburbs, students at Canadian universities whose parents send from Jakarta and who occasionally send back, and mixed families keeping a parent supported in Yogyakarta or Medan.
Both use the same payout. Rupiah into a bank account or a mobile wallet, credited locally, with no requirement on the receiving side beyond having the account.

What a rupiah payout costs
Rupiah amounts run large, which makes rate differences easy to miss and expensive to ignore. A margin that looks trivial expressed as a percentage becomes a conspicuous number of rupiah on a supplier invoice, and a supplier who was expecting a stated figure will notice the shortfall before you do.
Pricing the transfer on the rupiah total rather than the sending-side figure avoids that conversation entirely. Grey puts the total on screen while the transfer can still be changed.

How the rate behaves between confirmation and payout

The rate is displayed before you confirm and fixed once you do. Whatever the market does between confirmation and the moment the rupiah are credited, the figure already agreed is the figure that lands.
For a firm paying a contractor against an invoice in rupiah, that is the difference between paying the invoice and paying approximately the invoice. It also makes month-end reconciliation a matter of matching two numbers that were always the same.

Why this corridor sits well on Grey
Open the account, fund a balance, then enter an Indonesian bank account number or a registered wallet number. The rupiah total is confirmed before anything leaves.
