Send money to Hungary from Qatar
A euro corridor, stated plainly
Hungarians in Qatar are a small and specific group: contract engineers on infrastructure and energy work, medical staff, coaches and technical staff in the sports institutions around Aspire and Education City, and airline crew based in Doha. Most are here on defined contracts with obligations still running at home.
The mechanics on the payout side are what make this page different from the rest of the Qatar set. Grey converts your balance into euro and sends the euro into your recipient's Hungarian account through SEPA. There is no forint conversion at the Grey end. OTP Bank, K and H Bank and Raiffeisen Bank Hungary all receive euro credits into an IBAN in the normal way, and the account holder decides what happens next.
Whether that is a good arrangement depends entirely on the person receiving. If they hold a euro account, or have euro costs, or are content to convert at their own bank when the rate suits them, it works cleanly and converts only once on the way. If they need a fixed number of forint in the account on a fixed day, then the conversion their bank applies is a variable you are not controlling, and you should factor that in rather than be surprised by it.

What the euro route costs you
So the comparison on this corridor is not quite the usual one. Against a provider quoting a forint figure, look at what actually lands in forint after their margin, and set that against the euro amount Grey delivers plus whatever the recipient's bank charges to convert it.
For a household that keeps euro, the sum is simpler and usually favourable, because the money converts once and stops. For a household living entirely in forint, the answer depends on their bank, and the right thing to do is ask them what their bank does with an incoming euro credit before you settle on a method.

Pricing and fixing the euro conversion

What you are pricing is the conversion out of your balance into euro. Grey shows that rate and the fee together before you send, and if you already hold euro there is nothing to price at all.
The rate is fixed at confirmation. The euro figure on the screen is the euro figure credited to the Hungarian IBAN, and it does not move while the SEPA credit is in flight.
What Grey cannot fix is the rate the recipient's bank uses if they convert into forint later. That is their decision and their bank's pricing, and it is the one part of this journey that stays outside the app.
