Send money to Uganda from Kuwait
A mobile money corridor, stated plainly
There is no bank payout to Uganda on Grey. Every transfer on this route ends in an MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money wallet in Ugandan shillings, and knowing that before you ask anyone for details saves a conversation later.
Much of this corridor runs from the parts of Kuwait where the workforce actually lives, Mahboula, Farwaniya, Jleeb Al Shuyoukh and Fahaheel, and from domestic work, security, hospitality and facilities management. A large share of senders here are young, many are women, and many are sending for the first time on a first contract. The shillings go to Kampala, Entebbe, Jinja and further out, where a wallet is the account most households run.
Ask for three things when you call home: the mobile number, which network it sits on, and the name the wallet is registered in. Those three settle almost every question people have on this route.

What this costs, and where the cost hides
The dinar makes this easy to misjudge. It is the highest valued currency unit in the world, so a margin that reads as a fraction of a dinar is a large number of shillings at the wallet end. Half a dinar of margin is not a rounding error to the person collecting it in Kampala.
You already know the alternative. A morning off, a queue at an exchange company on the first of the month, a board rate that is not the rate you are given once the transfer is priced. Grey is the same transaction priced on screen, at the hour that suits you, with the shilling figure visible before anything moves.

The rate is fixed at confirmation

You convert once, from the currency you hold into Ugandan shillings, and the rate you accept on screen is the rate the transfer uses. Nothing is recalculated afterwards and nothing is trimmed on arrival.
That matters most when the amount is fixed at the other end. If a school bursar wants a specific figure in shillings, or a clinic has quoted a price, you work backwards from the shillings until the balance side reads what you can afford, then confirm that.
Because the dinar is managed against a basket weighted towards the dollar rather than hard pegged, a headline rate can look steady for weeks while the margin underneath it moves. Fixing the rate at confirmation puts that question to rest for the transfer in front of you.

Why this route works well on Grey
You have sent money home before and you are not learning this from scratch. The only real question is how many shillings arrive and how much work it takes you to get them there.
