Send money from Kuwait to Germany
Who sends money from Kuwait to Germany
Germany reaches Kuwait through engineering rather than migration, and the corridor reflects that.
German engineers, project managers and technical staff work on refinery, petrochemical, power and water projects, on aviation maintenance and on the equipment contracts that sit behind all of them. Many are here on a defined posting with a household still running in Germany: a mortgage in Nordrhein-Westfalen, a Krankenkasse contribution, children at school, a car and a flat that did not stop costing money when the contract started.
Then there is a second flow with no German passport anywhere near it. Kuwait has a long-established habit of sending patients to German hospitals and clinics, and where treatment happens, so do bills, accommodation for accompanying family, translators and follow-up appointments. Those are euro invoices with names and reference numbers, paid by residents of Kuwait who have never worked in Germany.
A third group is commercial. Firms in Kuwait City and Shuwaikh buy German machinery, parts and software, and the supplier invoice is in euro with payment terms attached.

What it costs to send euro to Germany
Dinar arithmetic hides this well. As the highest valued currency unit in the world, the dinar makes a wide margin look narrow, because the number in front of the decimal point barely changes. The dinar is also managed against a dollar weighted basket rather than fixed outright, so a stable looking headline rate is not evidence of a tight margin underneath.
The reliable test is the euro delivered against the euro invoiced. Take the figure printed on the German bill, ask what each route needs from your balance to deliver exactly that, and compare those two totals. Grey shows the fee and the rate as separate numbers before you confirm, so that sum is there on screen.

How the fixed rate works on a German transfer

The rate is shown before confirmation and held at that figure, so the euro that reaches the German account is the euro you agreed to.
German billing does not round in your favour. A clinic invoice, a Rechnung from a supplier with a payment reference, a university semester contribution, a rent standing order and a health insurance premium all specify an amount, and a payment that is close is a payment that is chased. Reference numbers make it worse: an underpaid invoice does not quietly sit as a part payment, it generates a reminder with a deadline on it.
The fixed rate also makes planning honest. If an instalment plan runs for six months, you can see now what six months of it costs from your balance rather than finding out one month at a time.
