Reaching Abidjan from Kuwait
The Ivorian community in Kuwait is modest and mostly working in domestic roles, security, cleaning and hospitality across Salmiya, Hawally and Kuwait City. What it shares with the rest of West Africa is a receiving side that runs on phones rather than branches. A mother in Yopougon or a brother in Bouaké is far more likely to have a wallet number than an account number.
That changes what the transfer has to do. It does not need to reach a bank during opening hours, it needs to reach a handset, and the person collecting needs to know the XOF figure in advance, because it is usually converted straight into a specific purchase.
Grey pays into MTN Mobile Money CI, Orange Money CI and Moov Africa wallets on the registered number, and into Ecobank CI, Société Générale CI and other Ivorian banks. Nobody at the other end needs a Grey account.

The cost, and where it hides on this route
The sending side compounds it. The dinar is the world's highest-valued currency unit and is managed against a dollar-weighted basket rather than being hard-pegged, so a headline rate that looks steady can still be carrying a margin that moves underneath it. The dinar figure never makes that visible.
Grey resolves it by stating the XOF that will land in the wallet or the account, alongside the fee, before you confirm. That number is the comparison.

Fixed at confirmation, not at collection

The rate is set when you confirm and does not change afterwards. The CFA francs shown are the CFA francs credited to the Orange Money or MTN Mobile Money wallet.
That is worth something on a corridor where the money is often collected within the day and spent immediately. The person receiving can plan against an exact figure instead of waiting to see what appears.

Why Grey suits this route
On this corridor the sums are not large and the margin for error is smaller still. What matters is that the CFA francs promised in Kuwait are the CFA francs collected in Abidjan.
