Euro to lira, paid into a TR IBAN
Three groups send this way from Ireland. The largest is the people who bought an apartment on the Aegean coast in the years when Irish buyers were looking at Bodrum, Fethiye, Didim and Kuşadası, and who now have a running set of local bills in lira. Behind them is the small Turkish community here, and a steady trade in machinery, textiles and food between Irish importers and suppliers in Istanbul and Izmir.
Türkiye runs on IBANs, so the recipient detail you need is a Turkish IBAN of 26 characters. Grey pays lira into Ziraat Bankası, İş Bankası, Garanti BBVA, Akbank, Yapı Kredi and any other Turkish bank, and it lands as an ordinary domestic credit. The person at the other end does not need a Grey account.
The conversion happens once, on the Grey side. Nobody in Türkiye is asked to convert euro on arrival, and nothing is deducted from the lira figure you saw before confirming.

What the transfer costs, and where it hides
On a currency that moves as much as the lira does, delay is itself a cost. A transfer that sits in a correspondent chain for three days can arrive worth noticeably less in real terms than it was worth when it left Ireland, even if nobody charged you anything extra for the wait. That is the part of the bill that never appears on a fee schedule.
Grey fixes the lira amount at confirmation and settles into the Turkish account, usually the same day where the balance is already funded. For a property owner paying a fixed annual charge, the useful comparison is not one transfer but a year of them, added up at the end.

Your lira figure is fixed when you tap send

The euro to lira rate you accept at confirmation is the rate applied. Between your confirmation in Ireland and settlement in Türkiye, Grey carries the movement, not you and not the person receiving it.
That certainty is the whole point when the amount was quoted to you in lira by somebody else: a site management company, a contractor, a school, a clinic or a supplier with an invoice date.

Five reasons this route works better in lira
Payments to Türkiye from Ireland are rarely dramatic. They are the site charge that arrives every spring, the amount a family sends on the same date each month, the invoice a supplier issues on thirty day terms.
