Send money to Lithuania from Ireland
The Lithuanian community in Ireland, and where the money goes
Lithuanians came to Ireland in numbers after 2004 and stayed, which is why this is one of the largest foreign-born communities in the country and one of the few that did not settle mainly in Dublin. Drogheda, Dundalk, Longford and Ennis all have Lithuanian families several years into a mortgage, with the shops, the Saturday schools and the football teams that go with that.
The money going back tends to go to the generation that stayed. Heating and medicine for parents in Kaunas or Šiauliai, a share of a flat in Vilnius, a student in Klaipėda, and the costs that arrive without warning when somebody is ill.
Lithuania adopted the euro in 2015. That is the whole story of this corridor: a euro balance in Ireland sends euro, a Lithuanian IBAN receives euro, and nobody at either end pays to change one currency into another.

What a transfer to Lithuania costs
That is a better outcome than most corridors get, and it is worth being plain about it. There is no margin to hunt for and no second provider to compare rates against, because no conversion happens between your balance in Ireland and an account in Vilnius.
If you fund your balance with sterling or with dollars held at Lead Bank, one conversion into euro takes place before the transfer leaves, and that rate is shown before you confirm like any other.

Euro to euro, and what the rate screen shows

When you send euro to a Lithuanian account there is nothing to convert, so the screen simply shows the fee and the amount arriving.
The rate screen only appears when the money starts life in another currency. Somebody paid in sterling for work in the north, or in dollars by a US employer, converts once into euro at a rate fixed at confirmation, and the euro then travels to Lithuania untouched.
