Euro from Ireland to a Spanish bank account
Two kinds of sender on the Ireland to Spain route
The first is the Irish owner of a place in Spain. Apartments on the Costa del Sol around Fuengirola and Marbella, houses on the Costa Blanca near Alicante and Torrevieja, and a long tail of villages inland. The money that goes out is rarely dramatic and almost always recurring: community fees to the comunidad de propietarios, the annual IBI to the town hall, the non-resident tax return your gestor files, electricity and water collected by direct debit in the months you are nowhere near the place.
The second is the Spaniard living in Ireland. Dublin has had a settled Spanish population for years, in hospitality, in language teaching and across the multinational offices, and Cork and Galway have their share. Money goes the other way for family, for a mortgage kept up at home, and for the flat that has not been sold yet.
Students sit between the two. Irish students on Erasmus in Madrid, Granada, Valencia or Salamanca need rent paid on a Spanish landlord's account, and their parents in Ireland are the ones paying it.
All three cases share the same mechanics. One currency, one conversion at most, and a euro figure that does not change between the moment you confirm in Ireland and the moment it posts in Spain.

The cost of getting euro to Spain
Where cost does creep in on this corridor is the currency you start from. If your income lands in sterling or dollars rather than euro, there is a conversion before the Spanish leg, and that is the number worth watching. Grey puts the rate and the fee on the same screen so you are comparing one total rather than two half figures.
The other cost is the one people forget: a Spanish direct debit that bounces because the account ran dry. Community fees and utility bills in Spain are collected from the Spanish account itself, so the practical job is keeping enough euro sitting there before the collection date, not scrambling on the day.

A euro amount that does not move after you confirm

When a conversion is involved, the rate is shown before confirmation and fixed at that moment, so the euro figure you agree to is the euro figure credited in Spain. If you are already holding euro, there is nothing to convert and the amount passes through unchanged.
That certainty matters most when the amount is exact rather than approximate. An IBI bill, a notary's quote, a term of student rent in Granada: these are set figures, and the sum arriving at Santander Spain or CaixaBank needs to match them rather than land a little short.

Why send to Spain with Grey
Most of the difficulty on this corridor is administrative rather than financial. The transfer is easy, the Spanish paperwork is what catches people.
