Sending money from Ireland to Chile
A small corridor, described honestly
There is no large Chilean community in Ireland and this page is not going to invent one. The people who use this route are specific and few: a scattering of Chileans in Dublin, some who came to study English and stayed on, a number of engineers and software people who arrived through work permits into the tech sector, and their families at home in Santiago, Valparaíso and Concepción.
Alongside them sit Irish businesses. Ireland and Chile are both small countries that live off exporting food and technical services, and Irish engineering, agri-technology and mining services firms do work for Chilean clients and pay Chilean contractors. Those invoices are in pesos and are best paid in pesos.
Being a small corridor does not make it a worse one. Grey converts euro to Chilean pesos once, in Ireland, shows the rate and the fee before you confirm, and pays into the recipient's own Chilean account. Nobody at the Chilean end needs a Grey account.

What a payment to Chile costs
Grey quotes euro to Chilean pesos directly. The rate and the fee appear as separate figures before you confirm, with the peso total underneath, which is the number the recipient's account will actually show.
For an Irish firm paying a Chilean contractor, that total is what goes against the invoice line. For a family payment, it is what the person at the other end has been counting on.

Working backwards from the peso figure

On this route the number that matters usually starts in Chile. A rent, a fee, an invoice, a monthly amount agreed with a parent. Enter that peso figure and the euro cost is shown against it, rather than the other way around.
The rate is fixed when you confirm. Movements in the peso after that point do not change what is credited in Santiago.
A single conversion, carried out in Ireland. There is no second conversion at Banco de Chile and no recalculation once the payment has gone.

Why the route is worth using properly
The failure on this route is always the same. Euro leaves Ireland, a Chilean bank converts it on arrival, and the person who was owed a specific number of pesos is handed a different number with no explanation attached.
