For many freelancers, earning in foreign currency on platforms like Fiverr is a game-changer. However, getting those hard-earned funds into your local bank account, especially in a different currency like EUR, can often involve hefty fees and confusing processes.
I’ve been there. The frustration of seeing your income dwindle due to unfavourable exchange rates and hidden charges is real.
I’ll be sharing my experience navigating Fiverr, how to receive EUR from Fiverr, and minimising those pesky fees.

Fiverr, at its core, operates in USD. All your earnings are calculated and displayed in US dollars. While they offer various withdrawal methods, the default is always USD. If you want to receive EUR, a currency conversion will inevitably happen, which can occur in two ways.

Here’s exactly how I set it all up. It was easier than I expected.
I visited grey.co and created a free account in just a few minutes. All I needed was my email, phone number, and password. Then came the verification step. I submitted a copy of my government-issued ID and proof of address. Within two days, I was approved.
Once my account was set up, I tapped “Get your US bank account”. I got a full USD bank account. Now, if I wanted to get paid EUR directly, I would just as easily have created an EU account. It’s the same process.
I logged into Fiverr and went to:
Settings > Earnings > Bank Transfer > Add Bank Details
There, I entered the details from my Grey account. Fiverr took a couple of days to review and approve the bank account, which was ready.
The next time Fiverr processed my earnings, I selected my new account. The funds landed smoothly, with no hiccups, no deductions I couldn’t explain, and no endless waiting.

So, yes, you can receive EUR from Fiverr. And you don’t necessarily need to live in Europe to do it.
