Send money from the UAE, from the balance you already have

Most people in the UAE are not Emirati. They are engineers, nurses, teachers, drivers, and builders from South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa, earning in USD or AED, sending a portion home every month. Grey is built for exactly this: a USD account you can receive into and send from, without opening a local bank account or navigating SWIFT fees.

Your Grey USD account works like a US bank account for receiving purposes. Your employer can wire your salary there. Clients can pay you there. Once funds are in your Grey balance, you can send to India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Nigeria, the UK, or dozens of other destinations in their local currency.

The exchange rate and the fee are shown separately before you confirm. The amount your recipient receives is not an estimate, it is the number locked in at confirmation. No adjustment after the fact, no rate slippage on processing day. What you see is what lands.

Which currencies does Grey support from the UAE?

Grey supports USD-funded transfers from the UAE to INR (India), PKR (Pakistan), PHP (the Philippines), NGN (Nigeria), KES (Kenya via M-Pesa), GBP (the UK), USD (the US), and EUR (30 European countries via SEPA). All transfers show the current exchange rate and total cost before confirmation.
India (INR)
Send USD to INR directly to any Indian bank account, SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, or via UPI to Google Pay or PhonePe. The USD-to-INR rate and fee are shown before confirmation. Transfers typically arrive within minutes. This is the highest-volume corridor for UAE senders.
Pakistan (PKR)
Send USD to PKR directly to HBL, UBL, MCB, Allied Bank, or any major Pakistani bank. The transfer fee and rate are displayed before you confirm. Most USD-to-PKR transfers from a funded balance arrive within minutes.
The Philippines, Nigeria, and Kenya
Send USD to PHP to BDO, BPI, Metrobank, UnionBank, or GCash. Send USD to NGN to GTBank, Access Bank, Zenith Bank, or UBA. Send USD to KES via M-Pesa. All corridors show the rate and fee before you send.

What does it cost to send money from the UAE?

Every international transfer from the UAE has two cost components: the transfer fee you can see and the exchange rate margin you often cannot. Grey separates both and shows them before you tap Send. The rate you see at confirmation is the rate applied to your transfer.

Traditional UAE bank wire transfers typically carry a flat SWIFT fee between AED 25 and AED 60, plus an exchange rate margin of 2 to 4 percent applied silently on top. On large transfers that combination costs significantly more than it appears. Exchange houses apply similar margins and may add additional service charges. Grey shows the total cost as a single number: what you send, what it costs, and what your recipient gets.

The exchange rate matters more than the visible fee on most corridors. On a USD 1,000 transfer to India, a 1 percent difference in the USD-to-INR rate changes the rupee amount your recipient receives by approximately 850 INR. Grey shows the rate before you confirm, not after.

The best way to send money internationally from the UAE

If total cost matters most
UAE bank wire transfers cost AED 25 to AED 60 flat fee plus a 2 to 4 percent exchange rate margin. Exchange houses charge lower flat fees but apply similar margins. Grey charges a transparent conversion fee with a rate close to the mid-market rate, both shown upfront. On large recurring transfers, that difference compounds.
If speed matters most
Transfers to India, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Nigeria via Grey typically arrive within minutes from a funded balance. UAE bank wires take 1 to 3 business days. Exchange house transfers vary but rarely match app-based speed for bank-to-bank delivery.
If you need more than transfers
Grey is the only provider in this comparison that also gives you a multi-currency balance to hold USD, GBP, EUR, and NGN, virtual cards for online payments, and GreyTag for free instant transfers to other Grey users.
Regulated by FinCEN
Grey Inc is registered with FinCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network), with a registered address at 651 N Broad St, Suite 206, Middletown, DE 19709, United States. Every transfer is processed in accordance with US financial regulations.

Send money from the UAE to other countries

Grey supports USD-funded transfers from the UAE to more than 80 countries. South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America are all covered. Your Grey USD account balance is the funding source for all corridors. The rate and fee for each destination are shown before confirmation.

Grey also gives you a multi-currency balance to hold USD, GBP, EUR, and NGN, virtual cards for online payments, and GreyTag for free instant transfers to other Grey users. One app, more than one use.

Your USD balance converts to INR and lands in your recipient's Indian bank account or UPI wallet. SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and UPI delivery via Google Pay and PhonePe are all supported. Your recipient does not need a Grey account.
Your USD balance converts to GBP and reaches your recipient's UK bank account via Faster Payments, typically within minutes. Barclays, HSBC UK, Lloyds, and NatWest are all supported. No UK account required on your end.
Western Union has exchange house locations across the UAE and is the dominant cash pickup provider. For bank-to-bank transfers, their combined fee and rate margin is typically higher than Grey. Grey delivers directly to recipient bank accounts with a transparent cost shown before confirmation.
PayPal and Xoom support some send corridors from the UAE but with higher fees and exchange rate markups. For South Asia and Africa corridors specifically, Grey's cost on bank-to-bank delivery is lower. Rate and fee are always shown before you send.
