Send money to Cyprus from Australia
Who sends money from Australia to Cyprus
Cypriots came to Australia in the same decades as the Greek migration and largely settled alongside it, in Sydney and Melbourne, and the two communities have been intertwined here ever since. The difference shows up in where the money goes. Greek Australian transfers tend to follow family. Cypriot ones follow family and land, because a great many of these households still hold a title to something in Cyprus and have never let it go.
So the corridor carries a mix. Second and third generation Australians paying for a parent's care in Nicosia or Limassol. Siblings agreeing on what to do with a house in a Paphos village that three of them own and none of them lives in. Municipal charges, insurance and a gardener on a property that gets used for four weeks in August. Legal fees, because Cypriot property paperwork is rarely quick.
Alongside that there is a straightforward professional flow. Limassol runs a large services and shipping sector, Australians work in it, and Cypriots working in Australian construction, hospitality and health send money back in the ordinary way.
Everything lands as euro, in the recipient's own Cypriot account, and nothing else is done to the amount after it arrives.

What it costs to send money to Cyprus
The honest comparison is done backwards. Decide what has to reach the Cypriot account, a care home invoice or a municipality bill or a lawyer's figure, then ask what each provider wants from you to deliver exactly that. The one that asks for less is cheaper, whatever the fee line says.
Cyprus being in the eurozone keeps that comparison clean. There is no receiving conversion to guess at and no second margin hidden on arrival, so the euro amount you approve is the euro amount the recipient can spend.

How the fixed rate works on a Cypriot transfer

Grey shows the live rate before you confirm and fixes it at that moment. The euro figure on the confirmation screen is the figure that lands in the Cypriot account.
On this corridor the payments are usually against something specific. A residential care fee in Larnaca, a quarterly bill from the community board, a lawyer's account for transferring a title between siblings. These are not approximate amounts, and a rate that moves after you have sent leaves a gap that someone in Cyprus has to notice, report and wait for you to fix.
The other half of it is that nothing further happens at the Cypriot end. The euro credit is not reconverted by the receiving bank, so there is no arrival deduction to explain to the relative who is checking the statement.
