How much does it cost to send money to Slovakia
Every transfer from Kenya to Slovakia involves two costs: the conversion fee and the exchange rate margin. Grey shows both before you confirm. The EUR amount your recipient receives is on screen before you tap Send. KES to EUR is a Group A currency pair, which means Grey's conversion fee is capped at $6 regardless of the transfer amount. On a large transfer, the effective fee percentage drops well below 1%.
How exchange rates work: KES to EUR
The KES to EUR exchange rate determines how many euros your recipient receives. On a large shilling transfer, a 1% difference in the rate changes the euro amount meaningfully. Grey shows the live rate before you confirm. The rate on screen is the rate applied. No adjustment after you send.
Grey charges a conversion fee of 1%, capped at $6. The withdrawal fee is 0.5% of the transfer amount, minimum €2, capped at €10. Both are shown alongside the rate before you commit. That is the complete cost.
Some providers advertise zero fees but recover their margin through the exchange rate. On a large KES transfer, a 2% rate markup costs significantly more than a transparent fee would. Grey separates both numbers so the total cost is clear before you send.
