Send money from Kenya to Mexico
Where Kenyan growers meet Mexican suppliers
Kenya and Mexico sell some of the same fruit into the same European supermarkets, which has made them suppliers to one another rather than only rivals. Packhouse lines, ripening and grading equipment, crop protection inputs and agronomy consultancy all move from Mexico towards growers in Murang'a, Kiambu, Nakuru and the Rift.
The payments follow the harvest calendar. A deposit before a season, a balance on shipment, an instalment when a technician flies in, each one tied to a peso figure a Mexican supplier has already quoted.
Grey converts KES to MXN and pays into Mexican bank accounts using the recipient's 18 digit CLABE. Transfers move over SPEI, Mexico's domestic instant payment network, and the recipient needs no Grey account.

The cost of paying in Mexican pesos
Grey separates the two figures. The conversion rate and the transfer fee are both on the confirmation screen, so the total is known before anything leaves your balance.
Since payout happens in pesos inside Mexico, the receiving bank has no conversion to make and no margin to take. The supplier sees the quoted amount.

Holding the rate through settlement

The KES to MXN rate shown when you confirm is the rate applied to the transfer, and later movement in the shilling or the peso does not change what arrives.
On a staged payment for a packhouse line, where the balance falls due months after the deposit, that is what keeps the project budget in one piece.

Five reasons Kenyan buyers use Grey for Mexico
A Mexican supplier releases equipment against a peso amount, not against a promise that something is on its way. Grey works on this corridor so the figure quoted in Nairobi is the figure credited in Mexico.
