How Filipino senders reach Bangladesh
Start from the recipient's side. Someone in Dhaka needs a fixed sum in taka by a fixed date, and they bank with BRAC Bank or another local bank. Malaysia and Singapore host large Bangladeshi workforces, and transfers home are frequent and fixed.
Grey works backwards from that: enter the BDT figure, see the USD cost from Manila, and send. The rate holds.
How sending to Bangladesh works

Scan your passport or PhilSys ID, take a selfie, and Grey opens a USD account in your name. That's the account your foreign income lands in. Grey works with licensed partners serving the Philippines.
Fund
Your salary or client payments in USD, EUR or GBP land in your Grey account. That balance funds the transfer to Bangladesh.
Send
Bangladesh needs bank, branch and account number, since the same bank has hundreds of branches. Enter all three, confirm BDT, send.
Two numbers, both shown first
With Grey, a sender in Manila sees three numbers before confirming: the USD debited, the fee, and the BDT that reaches Dhaka. None of them change afterwards.

BDT amount held from send to settlement

Enter the BDT amount first if the recipient's figure is what matters. Grey shows the USD cost from Manila and locks it.
The person at BRAC Bank sees exactly the sum you agreed.

The corridor most banks won't touch
Between Manila and Dhaka, the problem is well known. Bangladeshi freelancers and small suppliers are used to being paid in dollars and losing a margin to their bank. Paying in taka, at a rate they can check, marks you out as a client worth keeping. From Manila, Grey does the conversion transparently and delivers BDT as a domestic credit at BRAC Bank or any other bank.
How it lands in Dhaka
The BDT posts directly to the recipient's own account at any Bangladeshi bank, including Sonali Bank, BRAC Bank, Dutch-Bangla Bank, Islami Bank, City Bank. To them it looks like a domestic credit. The sender in Cebu sees it settle in the app.

Works with every Bangladeshi bank
From BRAC Bank to the smallest regional lender.

Looks local to them
A BDT deposit on their statement, nothing more.

Grey optional on their side
Unless they want GreyTag, which is instant and free.
Topping up in Manila
Before the BDT reaches Dhaka, the money has to get onto Grey in Manila. Filipino freelancers and BPO contractors receive dollar pay into Grey. That balance sends onward without a peso conversion. Hold the balance in dollars and convert to BDT exactly when the payment to Dhaka is due.
From an employer abroad
Payroll into your Grey USD account, then straight to Dhaka.
From platforms
Upwork, Fiverr and Deel payouts land in Grey and convert to BDT.
From family
A GreyTag from a relative funds a transfer to Bangladesh in seconds.
For a Filipino sender, being able to convert to BDT at the exact moment you choose is worth more than any fee saving.
Who sends from the Philippines to Bangladesh
Garment importers
Deposits and balance payments to factories in Dhaka, Gazipur and Chittagong.
Remote hiring
Monthly pay for Bangladeshi developers, designers and support staff.
Pharmaceutical buyers
Payments to Bangladeshi generic drug manufacturers and distributors.
Family support

For senders in Manila and Cebu, the Dhaka side matters most. Malaysia and Singapore host large Bangladeshi workforces, and transfers home are frequent and fixed. From Manila and Cebu, the senders are a mix of families, students' parents and businesses.
