How Turkish senders reach Canada
Start from the recipient's side. Someone in Toronto needs a fixed sum in Canadian dollars by a fixed date, and they bank with RBC or another local bank. North Africans and Middle Easterners are a large share of new Canadian residents, especially in Montreal and Toronto.
Grey works backwards from that: enter the CAD figure, see the USD cost from Istanbul, and send. The rate holds.
How sending to Canada works

A passport or kimlik and a few minutes in Istanbul. Your account arrives with dollar, euro and pound details for receiving money from abroad. Grey works with licensed partners serving Türkiye.
Fund
Your salary or client payments in USD, EUR or GBP land in your Grey account. That balance funds the transfer to Canada.
Send
Pick Interac e-Transfer for instant delivery, or bank transfer with transit and account number for next business day. Confirm CAD, send.
Two numbers, both shown first
With Grey, a sender in Istanbul sees three numbers before confirming: the USD debited, the fee, and the CAD that reaches Toronto. None of them change afterwards.

CAD amount held from send to settlement

Enter the CAD amount first if the recipient's figure is what matters. Grey shows the USD cost from Istanbul and locks it.
The person at RBC sees exactly the sum you agreed.

The corridor most banks won't touch
Between Istanbul and Toronto, the problem is well known. Bank transfers to Canada clear next business day with an 18:00 Eastern cutoff. Interac e-Transfer is instant, any day. For a student whose rent is due tomorrow, that's the difference. From Istanbul, Grey does the conversion transparently and delivers CAD as a domestic credit at RBC or any other bank.
What lands at RBC
The CAD posts directly to the recipient's own account at any Canadian bank, including RBC, TD, Scotiabank, BMO, CIBC. To them it looks like a domestic credit. The sender in Ankara sees it settle in the app.

Works with every Canadian bank
From RBC to the smallest regional lender.

Looks local to them
A CAD deposit on their statement, nothing more.

Grey optional on their side
Unless they want GreyTag, which is instant and free.
Topping up in Istanbul
Before the CAD reaches Toronto, the money has to get onto Grey in Istanbul. Turkish exporters and freelancers receive USD into Grey from foreign buyers and clients. Sending from that balance avoids the lira leg entirely. Hold the balance in dollars and convert to CAD exactly when the payment to Toronto is due.
No local deposit
Grey in Türkiye is funded from abroad only.
Three currencies in
USD, EUR, GBP all accepted, all convertible to CAD.
One conversion out
Rate shown before you send to Toronto.
For a Turkish sender, being able to convert to CAD at the exact moment you choose is worth more than any fee saving.
Who sends from Türkiye to Canada
Urgent transfers
Interac e-Transfer lands instantly when something cannot wait a business day.

Three kinds of sender use this route from Istanbul: families with someone in Toronto, parents of students, and businesses with a supplier or contractor in Canada. North Africans and Middle Easterners are a large share of new Canadian residents, especially in Montreal and Toronto.
