Send money from South Africa to Morocco
The Casablanca route and the people on it
Two sorts of sender dominate. The first is a buyer in Johannesburg or Gqeberha with a Moroccan supplier who quotes in dirhams and expects payment into a local account. The second is a family in Cape Town supporting a student in Rabat or Fez, where the rent is a fixed monthly figure and the university bills by semester.
Grey pays into Attijariwafa Bank, Banque Populaire, BMCE Bank of Africa, CIH Bank and Société Générale Maroc. Payment is made against the recipient's RIB, the account identifier Moroccan banks issue, and you choose between standard and instant delivery when you set the transfer up.
Standard transfers usually arrive within minutes from a funded balance, and the recipient does not need Grey to accept them.

The conversion rate and the withdrawal fee for the speed you picked are both displayed before you commit, so the comparison between standard and instant is made with real numbers in front of you.
Once the dirhams reach Attijariwafa Bank or CIH Bank, no further deduction occurs. A supplier expecting an exact figure against an invoice receives that exact figure.

Why the dirham total is fixed before departure

The dirham total is struck at confirmation and carried through to the RIB you entered. Later movement in the market does not reach a transfer that has already been agreed.
Moroccan suppliers work to invoice terms, and a shortfall of a few hundred dirhams turns a settled invoice into a query. Fixing the figure in advance avoids the correspondence.
