The $42b Problem

According to the African Development Bank, African women face a range of challenges in accessing finance, which has led to a $42 billion finance gap for women entrepreneurs on the continent.

Introducing UpGreyed Her

UpGreyed Her is a financial inclusion initiative by Grey. We want to empower three outstanding female entrepreneurs by providing them with the necessary capital to expand their businesses. Long-term support is necessary to achieve gender parity and UpGreyed Her is our commitment to that.
We're awarding a total of $8,000 in prize money to the three most deserving applications. The first place winner gets $4,000 and two runners-up will receive $2,000 each.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligible businesses must have a female founder (or co-founder with at least 50% ownership). The founder must be between the ages of 21 and 35, an African resident, and established the company within the last three years.
Application Timeline
Application opens Friday, March 8th, and closes Sunday, March 24th, 2024.

Please submit your application on/before 9 AM (Pacific Time) on March 24, 2024.
