Every day, scammers find new ways to impersonate brands, trick users, and steal funds. At Grey, we’re constantly improving our systems to keep your money safe, detecting suspicious logins, flagging fake activity, and blocking fraud attempts before they reach you.

And while Grey works around the clock to keep your account safe, the strongest protection comes when we work together. Every time you double-check a message, enable two-factor authentication (2FA), or verify before taking action, you’re not only protecting your account but also helping to stop scammers in their tracks and protecting our entire community of users.

This month, let’s make that simple habit second nature.

Small habits, big protection

A few minutes of prevention today can save you from losing access or money tomorrow. Here are four simple steps that go a long way in keeping your money and data safe:

Enable passkeys or two-factor authentication (2FA)

This is your first line of defence against unauthorised logins. With Passkeys or 2FA, even if someone gets your password, they can’t access your account without your approval.

Set it up: Go to your Grey app → More → Security → Two-factor authentication.

Turn on payment alerts and limits

Get notified whenever money moves in or out of your account. Setting custom limits adds another layer of control, especially during busy seasons or large transactions.

Set it up:

More → Account → Notifications → Login/Transaction alerts

More → Finances → Transaction limits

Verify before you act

If you receive a message claiming to be from Grey, stop and check.

Grey will never ask you for your OTP, PIN, or seed phrase via DMs, email, or phone.

When in doubt:

  • Open your app and check for official notifications.
  • Contact support directly through the in-app Help Centre.

Review your devices and sessions regularly

You can see which devices are logged into your account and instantly log out any that you don’t recognise.

Set it up: More → Security → Devices and Sessions*.*

Beware of fake Grey accounts

We’ve recently seen an increase in fraudulent social media profiles pretending to be Grey support or offering “giveaway promos.” These fake accounts often ask for your personal details, promising rewards or refunds.

Please remember:

  • Grey will never DM you first about security issues, refunds, or promotions.
  • Only trust verified handles linked from our official website and app.
  • Report impersonators directly on the platform and contact Grey in-app if you’re unsure.

Look for the verified tick next to our official accounts (and if something feels off, it probably is). Security starts with a mindset: being alert, aware, and one step ahead.

Before you click, confirm. Before you send, check. Before you trust, verify.

Protect your account and your money.

Make it your goal to:

  • Enable Passkeys/2FA
  • Set payment alerts and limits
  • Verify every message before acting
  • Report fake Grey accounts

Your account’s safety starts with you, but you’re never alone. Grey is here to support, monitor, and protect you every step of the way.

Stay secure, stay Grey

Take a minute now to review your security settings in the app.

Open the Grey app → More → Security.

Let’s make sure your money stays where it belongs: with you.
