How UK citizens can apply for an Indonesian visa online

1. Choose the right visa type:

Depending on your reason and duration of stay, different types of visas are tailored to your needs. These include:

  • Single-entry visa: The Indonesian single-entry, also known as a tourist visa, is issued for a maximum of 30 days, with the option to extend it to another 30 days. Under this visa type, UK citizens can get a visa on arrival. However, it’s important to note that you have to meet specific requirements. These include:
    • You must arrive at one of the locations listed here.
    • You must have a valid passport with a minimum validity of six months and at least one blank visa page.
    • Pay a fee of $31 upon arrival
    • Show a copy of your return ticket.

You can also apply for a visa in advance upon arrival through the official immigration website.

  • Multiple-entry visa: The multiple-entry visa is valid for up to one year and is typically issued to people visiting Indonesia for government or business activities.
  • Business visa: The business visa is a type of multiple-entry visa that allows visits multiple times for up to one year, with each stay up to 60 days. Indonesian business visa holders can attend meetings, training, and negotiations, but they aren’t allowed to work or get paid by an Indonesian company.
  • Limited stay visa: Despite the name, the limited stay visa is long-term visa will enable you to work or study in Indonesia for up to two years. It includes work, study, family, and retirement visas.

2. Gather the required documents

Ensure you have the following documents for a smooth application process:

  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • A valid passport with at least six months validity and one blank visa page
  • Proof of return or onward flight tickets
  • A recent passport photograph
  • Proof of accommodation in Indonesia
  • Recent bank statements of at least three months

3. Apply through the official immigration website

  • Visit evisa.imigrasi.go.id.
  • Select the visa type and fill out the online application form.
  • Upload the required documents.

4. Pay the visa fee

The visa fees vary depending on the type and duration of your visit, but they range between $30 and $160.

5. Receive and use your visa
